Mobile devices used by Security Personnel can be secured via MDM or Google Family Link. We recommend you use mobile devices with stock Android. The following will happen once the devices are onboarded via MDM or Google Family Link.
- The device will be locked to use only the Doberman App.
- No other apps can be installed on the device without Admin permission.
- Devices are geofenced. They get locked if they leave a certain radius.
- Devices can be wiped/reset in case they are lost or stolen.
Mobile Device Management (MDM) is an enterprise grade solution used by companies to secure the devices (mobiles, laptops, tablets, etc) used by their employees. Doberman App uses Zoho ManageEngine MDM to centrally manage and control mobile devices. This is a paid option and costs around Rs. 3000/- per device per year. However, it can be an overkill for the few devices you want to secure for your housing society.
Google Family Link works on the same principles as MDM. While Google built it to secure the devices you give to your children, you can repurpose it for security personnel devices. We recommend you use Google Family Link. It's free and you can manage the devices yourself with a little onboarding help from us.
